Vom 8. bis zum 15. Juni 2018 findet zum zweiten Mal “The Queer Thing” als antikapitalistische, nicht-kommerzielle Alternative und Kritik zur Zurich Pride statt. Das Programm wird fortlaufend auf dieser Webseite publiziert. Schau hin und wieder vorbei, um nichts zu verpassen. Epizentrum der Veranstaltungen wird das queerfeministische Hausprojekt an der Freiestrasse 138 in Zürich sein.
From June 8 to 15 “The Queer Thing” will take place for the second time. The week is an anticapitalist and non-commercial alternative and critique to the Zurich Pride Festival. Program and schedule will continuously be published on this blog. Check it out regularly! Most activities will be held in the queerfeminist space at Freistrasse 138 in Zurich.
Wer wir sind? Wer steckt dahinter?
Wir sind ein antikapitalistisches, queeres Kollektiv aus Zürich. Wir kommen aus verschiedenen politischen und gesellschaftlichen Strömungen und treffen uns seit Herbst 2016 regelmässig. Du findest unsere gemeinsame Position weiter unten (auf Englisch).

Who are we? Who’s behind this festival?
We are an anticapitalist and queer collective from Zurich. We come from different political and social movements. We have been meeting on a regular basis since autumn 2016. Check out our common position below.

Our common position:
To all the queers who feel misrepresented by the pro-police, profit-oriented and homonormative pride. We think the time has come to organize an anti-racist and anticapitalist alternative. We would like to invite other people interested in working together towards the goal of a self-organized, non-commercial, and non-excluding festival in June 2018. Beyond that we feel the urge to create a collective space for meeting, action, dancing and politics on a regular basis. JOIN IN.
